And one day a Spanish king
With a council of bad knaves
Tried to come to Bury
A new way of recording
A chain round the neck
Ding, off he trots
You can't say anything nowadays
I said if
I'm from Bury
An old friend who I have not seen nor heard from in nigh on thirty years, tracked me down today. I was amazed and delighted to hear from him as it has been one of my great regrets that we lost contact with one another. Suffice to say, he's a totally great bloke and I hope we will be able to rekindle something of our old friendship. Life throws up plenty of surprises, one being that he now lives in Bury. It's a mystery to me but The Fall may be able to shed some light. Beware - the first one and a half minutes of this song are supposed to sound like they were recorded in a soggy cardboard box. Mark E. Smith for new Lord Protector. Slight edit on the track but I chose it for the Mark E. pic.

A good news story. 30 years? Plenty of catching up to do. I raise a glass of red to your rekindled friendship, long may it continue.
(P.S. Happy Birthday M.E.S.)
Great pic of Mark...there are a few old friends I often think about and it would be so good to hear from them...good for you!
That's really touching. I hope you enjoy rekindling your friendship and your mutual memories. Never been to Bury, am I missing something do you think?
Gotta love Mr Smith too!
Cheers, mates. How long before my old mate realises I'm mad?
